An unknown researcher has come to the conclusion that Elizabeth was the child of Samuel Hopkins and Mary Gover. It is unlikely that this Elizabeth was the Elizabeth who was the daughter of Samuel Hopkins. There is a 9 year difference in their ages. Samuel Hopkins stayed in Maryland and lived about 78 miles east of where the West family lived, while this Elizabeth most likely married Simeon West in Virginia.
