Mary was born about 1782. She was the daughter of William Hopkins by his first wife Peace Scott.
Mary married to Samuel Owings in Montgomery County, Kentucky and resided for a time in Nicholas County, Kentucky where several records exist of her children marrying. She was named "Polly" Owens in the will of her father dated the 4th of October in 1831.
