Hi!

Now that you have had a little time to try WikiTree, there are a few more features you may find useful.

Ideas on what to include in a profile can be found in Styles and Standards, including some tips on writing biographies.

If you need to describe an event, an heirloom or a location relevant to your research, you may like to learn about Free Space Profiles.

Lastly, sometimes you'll run into unresponsive profile managers. We have a process for resolving those unfortunate situations.

If you have any questions, feel free to ask via my profile page.

Hello David

Thanks for volunteering. You are now a confirmed member of WikiTree! Sorry for the delay, we are quite busy at the moment.

Did you know there are already 5401 Hopkins' on Wikitree? I hope you find some of your ancestors already here. http://www.wikitree.com/genealogy/hopkins If you need help, contact our Mentors Project, a friendly bunch of volunteers.

Our G2G Forum is a way to share information and ask questions. Click this link to have a look at the current question of the week - Honouring USA Independence Day - Were any of your ancestors on the "wrong side" in a war?

Looking forward to collaborating with you soon.

Veronica, Australia

Hello David and welcome!

Our first email to you included some links that will help you get started on Wikitree, which I’m sure is not like any other genealogy site you’ve used. It is different because our goal is to have one profile per person and that means we all work together, as a BIG collaborative team!

I see you have already volunteered! We are a bit busy at the moment but a volunteer will confirm your membership soon and you’ll be on your way!

Welcome to our family, we are glad you've joined us.

Trying to find the connection to William Palmer Hopkins, Whose picture was recently found in my family photo album

My grandfather Charles Hopkins has an antique bookcase loaded with family information. It was common knowledge in the family that it was to be mine upon his passing. Unfortunatly my Dad's brothers didn't honor Grampy's wishes. I have very little to go on thanks to them. I know that there are family members who were involved with the Civil War and the Revolution from stories Grampy told and artifacts he would show from the bookcase. He told a story with articles and artifacts about how his mother was an Indian Princess.

It seems that anyone who would share their info that could help me get it all straight wants money for it. I'm by no means rich.
