Biography

Albert Hopkinson was born in Yorkshire, England.

Albert was born in Keighley, Yorkshire, England, on February 19, 1906. He was the son of Henry Hopkinson and Charlotte Cummings. He was enumeated in the 1911 census as a five year old residing with his parents and one sibling at 11 Orleans Street, Keighley. Maternal grandmother and widow Isabella Cummings also at residence. Albert's father was a "Machine Fitter".

Albert married Maud Gott (Maiden name Brayshaw) on June 2, 1934 at the Parish Church in Keighley. Albert was a twenty eight year old bachelor and "Painter" residing at 5 Guard House Grove, Keighley. His father was named as Henry Hopkinson "Fitter". Maud was a thirty two year old widow and "Weaver" residing at 207 Malsis Crescent, Oakwood Road, Keighley. Her father was named as Thomas William Brayshaw "Plasterer". It does not appear the couple had children. Albert and Maud appeared in the 1939 Register residing at 24 Arnside Avenue, Keighley. No children at residence. Albert's occupation "Decorator & Painter".

Albert passed away in Keighley on January 23, 1957. His death was registered in Worth Valley. He was buried at Morton Cemetery, Keighley.
