Jan Hendrickse Hoppe. was baptized in Bergen Reformed Dutch Church, Bergen (now Jersey City), NJ, on 26 Jun 1682[1]. Jan joined the Hackensack church on confession, April 6, 1706; m. Rachel Terhuyne, July, 1707. He settled near Paramus. "[2] He married Rachel Terhune in July 1707 in "Ackinsack" (Hackensack)[3][4]. The 1707 census showed him living in Hackensack, NJ.[5] Jan Hendrickse died in 1750 in probably Hoppertown (now Ho-Ho-Kus), Bergen Co., NJ.
