Arthur Hopper was born on 12 May 1869 in Christchurch, Canterbury, New Zealand, son of Arthur Hopper and Emma Kitchingman[1].

His siblings were:

Arthur married Mabel Wake on 2 June 1920 in New Zealand[3].

Arthur died on 28 March 1969 in New Zealand[4]. He was buried in Hastings Cemetery and Crematorium, Camberley, Hawke's Bay, New Zealand[5]
