Elizabeth (Horn) Morrison was born in Appalachia, in Tennessee.
Research Notes
Elizabeth's parents have been speculated to be Jacob Horn who married Ruthamy Bowman. Researchers think that because he lived in Greene County, Tennessee. However, no proof of him as a father has been found, and Ruthamy would have been in her late 50's having children. Ok, now some new records have just came to light for Jacob Horn showing him in the 1850 and 1860 Census living in Mercer Kentucky, born in Tennessee, with a lady named Nancy Unknown Horn at a younger age than him. And so she could easily be the mother of most, if not all of these girls. It appears she had children already by a first husband surname Carter. Here are the census records.
1850 Census Record for possible father Jacob Horn:
Each census record and Find A Grave, for Elizabeth Horn Morrison shows a conflicting account of her age: 1850 census birth yr 1824, 1860 birth yr 1832, 1870 birth yr 1823, 1880 birth yr 1816 and final conflict is find-a-grave with 1820. ( NOTE: I normally have used 1816 as it most closely lines up with those of her sisters, but going by the Wiki Tree rule have used 1824 here.- Morrison-4292 )
It is DNA proven that Elizabeth had 3 sisters, all three have descendant DNA tested matches that line up on the same chromosome segments together. Rachael 1806, who married William Likens, Jr. Susannah 1811, who married James Barton Johnson. And Esther 1813, who married Gravenor Likens (brother of William). They all migrated from Greene County, Tennessee to Greene County, MISSOURI and Lawrence County, Missouri. There are also Horn that lived in Stone County, Missouri and have not been able to connect them to these Horn with any documentation. There is also DNA evidence for being related to the people listed in the 1850 and 1860 census records, Hale and Carter. Making it most likely we have the right person, although not conclusive.
Elizabeth's husband Alfred (A.C.) left and ran off with another woman for Oregon State and ultimately California after 1870, but no divorce records have been found. He died in 1913 in Chico California where son George was living nearby.

The DNA is certain, but the paper trail connecting Jacob absoultely being the father to the 4 daughters remains sparce. Therefore I have marked both parents uncertain.
Paternal relationship is confirmed by FTDNA DNA test match of L. Morrison and Ancestry DNA test of H. Likens uploaded in GEDMATCH, MCRA being Jacob Horn (Horn-6608), sharing 43 centimorgans across 5 segments. And Triangulation match of Ancestry DNA tests of L. Morrison (Morrison-4492) H. Likens and A. MacMullin, MCRA being Jacob Horn (Horn-6608) sharing 16 centimorgans across 3 overlapping segments, Longest shared segments on Chr 5 and Chr 22.

DNA Connections
It may be possible to confirm family relationships with Elizabeth by comparing test results with other carriers of her mitochondrial DNA.
However, there are no known mtDNA test-takers in her direct maternal line.
It is likely that these autosomal DNA test-takers will share some percentage of DNA with Elizabeth:
Brick wall at Elizabeth Horn , DNA confirmed all 3 sisters from modern descendants. They moved together from Greene County TN to Greene County MO and Lawrence County MO. Possible father for these sisters is Jacob Horn married to Ruthamy Bowman. (However if Jacob is the father Ruthamy would have been too old to be the mother of almost any of the 4 sisters). We need a Y-line Horn tester that matches to all us cousins autosomal DNA. And a better paper trail on Jacob and or other Greene County TN Horn father and mother. Any info is appreciated !
