Biography

Laura Eliza Horne was born on 27 April 1815 in Chiswick, Middlesex, England to Rev. Thomas Horne and Cecilia Clementine Elizabeth (Zoffany) Horne.

Until age 47 she lived as a spinster with her own fund to support her. ^[1] The 1851 Census shows that Laura was friends with the woman who would 4 years later marry Laura's cousin's widower, Mary Ann Brande. ^[1]

When Mary Ann died, Laura married Godfrey Tallents, the same widower of both her cousin Ellen Eleanor (Horne) Tallents and Mary Ann. The nuptials were sealed on 4 October 1862 in Little Berkhampstead, Hertfordshire, England. ^[2] To the marriage he brought not only Ellen's children, but Mary Ann's son. Together Godfrey and Laura had no children.

Laura died on 24 June 1888 in Brighton, Sussex. Her executors were stepsons William Edward Tallents and Godfrey Talllents.^[3]
