Andrew was born on 5 December 1894 at Shore Street, Thurso, Caithness, Scotland[1]. He was the son of John Horne and Jessie Sinclair.
In 1901 he was living with his parents, John (a flagstone labourer aged 38) and Jessie (33), and siblings - Elizabeth (14), George (13), Jessie (12), John (10), Isabella (5) and William (4), the last five scholars - at Sutherland's Cottages, Thurso, Caithness[2]. He was a scholar aged 6.
Andrew died in 1976 aged 81 years at Inverness, Inverness-shire, and his death was registered at Inverness[3].
