Nicholas was an a tailor in London. Nicholas was hanged {for assisting Christopher Bayles, made priest beyond the sea, who was convicted of treason for remaining in the realm contrary to the statute} on 14 March 1589, aged about 33, in Smithfield, London, England. Arrested on the charge of harbouring Catholic priests, he was kept for a long time in a cell, contracted blood poisoning in one leg and had it amputated. He was a devout Roman Catholic who sheltered RC priests unlawfully. Beatified 22 November 1987 by Pope John Paul II.
