Biography

George Horner is referred to as John Owens' father-in-law in The Tenmile County and Its Pioneer Families by Howard L. Leckey. "George Horner and Ann Owens sold to John Owens, son-in-law of George Horner, 350a. on North River (Probably the North Fork of the South Fork of the Potomac River) Witnesses were John Arnold, George Nickson, Rudy Burngamer, John Thomas, George Hoge and William Hoge. Recorded September 2, 1761. (info provided by Marilyn Caolia) Four days later, April 4, 1761, John Owens assigned the land George Horner and Ann Owens deeded him _5_? a. to Benjamin Suten (Sutton) of Frederick Co. on North River. "
