Birth: 17 Feb 1678/79, Southold, Suffolk, New York
Mehitable Horton married first Christopher Bradley, son of Peter & Mary (Christophers),[1] about 1700 at Southold, Suffolk, New York.
After the death of Christopher, she married Daniel Tuthill, son of John & Deliverance (King) Tuthill, in 1705 at Southold, Suffolk, New York - and parents of Lydia Tuthill.
Research Notes
Jonathan Bradley, in his will of 1739, names "his brother" Daniel Tuthill an executor. Jonathan's mother Mehitable married 2nd Daniel Tuthill, whose son Daniel, born 1712, became a half-brother of Jonathan Bradley, son of Christopher Bradley.[2]
"From the above genealogical tree of the Bradleys, we find no Peter Bradley who was born early enough to have married Mehitable 3 Horton as her first husband, and who died early enough for her to have married in 1705 (or 1706) to Daniel 4 Tuthill as her second husband."
"This Christopher 3 Bradley was born July 11, 1679, and was of a proper and suitable age to become the husband of Mehitable 3 Horton."
Christopher - not Peter - Bradley was the 1st husband of Mehitable Horton. Jonathan Bradley would have to have been the son of a Peter Bradley, who is not found - a Peter Bradley who would have been Mehitable Horton's 1st husband - in order for his mother's son Daniel Tuthill 1712 to have been his half-brother, or stated as "his brother" in his will.
