In 1908 she married John Adams, known as Jack, at the Church of Nativity, Blenheim. John Adams was the youngest son of Frederick Adams also of Blenheim. Mabels' father William was unwell at the time and she was given away by her brother-in-law George McKay.
The couple honeymooned in Auckland and returned to Blenheim to start married life. Mabel and John had 2 children in their marriage, June and Noel.
Her whole life was spent in Blenheim. Mabel owned a share in a property known as Wellworth on Scott Street.
She died in 1938 age 53 and is buried at Omaka Cemetery.[1]
