Biography
William Horton was born on 16 February 1826 in Vermont. He is the son of William Horton and Persis White.[1]
He traveled with his parents and siblings to Wisconsin. He became a farmer and wagon maker by trade.[2] NOTE: The move from Vermont to Wisconsin may have been due to the popularity of The Homestead Act of 1862.
William married Polly Amelia Cohoon of Ohio on Christmas Day in 1858.[3] Unfortunately, the couple had no children.
William passed away on the 5th of October, 1889, in Ironton, Sauk, Wisconsin.[1] He is buried in the Tuckertown Cemetery in Hill Point, Wisconsin[4] Polly, his wife, is buried in the Oak Hill Cemetery in North Freedom, Wisconsin.
