Biography

Martha Jane Horton was born in Tennessee on November 16, 1861 to George S. Horton and Virginia Jane (Pigg) Horton.[1]


Martha married Joseph N Loyd and had eight children.[2]

Their children: Sallie, Green, William, Elnora, George, Robert, Thomas and Dewey.


Martha died on March 11, 1861 at 69 years old and is buried in Mountain Valley Cemetery in Edgewood, New Mexico.[3]

The census records attached to the profile have her birth year as 1856 or 1857, which would mean her suggested father was alive at the time of her birth.

If she was born in 1861 per findagrave, her suggested father had been dead for more than nine months at the time of her birth.
