Found a fourth child for Daniel and Josephine: Angeline Hortense Swett born January 11, 1883. I found her on the 1910 and 1930 Census listed as Sophia's daughter and again on a family tree in ancestry.com, The family tree had the exact birthdate of January 11, 1883 and her full name, whereas the census had the year of her birth (1883) and on the 1930 Census her name was Angie, and on the 1910 Census it was Angia. She didn't show up on the 1900 Census because she appears to be boarding with her Aunt, Florence Baxter Metcalf in Auburn, Maine. It's a bit of a leap, though, because her name is spelled Sweet, not Swett. It could be except that extra e was really a t because the date for her birth is as right as can be: Jan 1883. So you figure it out.

Ok this clinches it: I now found Josephine S. and Dennis Swett in the 1880 Census ages 20 and 22 living with--drum roll--Sophia E Parlin and her sons Joseph Houghton, Abel E. Parlin and George O. Parlin. So I have no doubt now that Josephine married Dennis Swett

It's pretty safe bet that Josephine married Dennis B. Swett and had at least 3 children because in the 1900 U.S. Census I found Sophia E. Parlin age 70 and George O. Parlin age 39 living with Josephine L. Swett age 53 and her husband Dennis B. Swett age 50. Also living there were the sons and daughters of Josephine and Daniel: Henry G. age 19, Agnes F. age 15, Alton H. age 6, and Daniel's mother, Elmira Swett age 81.

They were all living in Weld, Maine at that time. Oh wait--that was one of those Census sheets that listed the month and year of their birth, so it went like this: Dennis-August 1849, Josephine-June 1856, Henry-Aug 1880 Agnes-Dec 1885, Alton—Feb 1894, Elmira-Oct 1888. They were all born in Maine. Dennis was a farmer and Henry was a bookkeeper.
