Hi

Congratulations, you have now been a WikiTree member for one month! Here are some further ideas to help you make the most of our site.

Beyond The Basics of WikiTree is a guide to some more advanced features of WikiTree.

If you haven’t found us already, WikiTree is active on many Social Sites. We also have a blog where you'll find our monthly newsletter as well as tips, interviews with our members and guest posts from others in the genealogy community.

And we're always looking for volunteers to assist in different ways.

~Terry~ ??

Hi Jim,

Thank you for joining WikiTree. As a WikiTree Mentor I am available to answer any questions or help solve any issues you may be having.

How To Use WikiTree is a good starting point and the Help Index is an important place to find out how to do most tasks.

Do you have Royal Ancestors? They are already here on Wikitree! Rather than create duplicate profiles for them, please contact the EuroAristo Project to discuss connecting your family line to their profiles.

Feel free to ask me via my profile page if you have any questions.

also - I've found that the best way to research my family in WikiTree is to post what I know and connect to existing profiles when I find them (adding profiles when there's not one already and collaborating with others when there is - you can also use the "Ask question about..." button from a profile to post a question in G2G that's linked to the profile). Good luck, and let me know if you need help. We have a great Mentor team that checks on new people after a couple of days, but I can ask someone to contact you sooner if you feel the need. G2G is also a great place to get help. Cheers, Liz

p.s. I noticed you uploaded a GEDCOM. Here's a link to a great step-by-step of the process, including screenshots, that you might find helpful. Also, the WikiTree Help pages give lots of information about the process; a good starting place is Before you import a GEDCOM.

Welcome Jim!

I'm glad you found us. To become a full member (aka Wiki Genealogist), you’ll need to sign the Honor Code. For a list of helpful links, click my name and check out the "Greeter" section-especially the Sources links and the links to my fellow greeters Debby and Maggie, who have helpful information on their profile pages also.

If you get stuck on anything and can't find an answer in WikiTree Help or How to Use WikiTree, you can post to G2G or give me a holler.

Thank you for joining our collaborative tree! Remember that our mission is to build a global tree with just one profile per person, so please look for duplicates before adding a profile.

Enjoy!
