Elizabeth was born 02 July 1849 in New York City. [1] [2] [3] She came to Canada in 1855 with her parental family. [4] On 20 December 1871, she was married to Samuel Francis Johnston in St. Mark's Anglican Church, Orangeville, Ontario, Canada. [5] They lived on the farm, but by 1891 they were in St Catharines, Lincoln, Ontario, and in 1911, the address there was 356 Montrose Ave. In 1920, they lived in Toronto. [6] She became ill, and went to Vancouver staying with her children Francis, Florence and Will to be nursed by Florence. She died six moths later on 4 March 1922 in Vancouver General Hospital of pneumonia and stomach cancer following an operation. [7] Elizabeth had purchased a plot in Victoria Lawn Cemetery, St. Catharines, the East half of Lot Number 5 in Division Number 13 in Section T(?). She was buried there. [8]
