Biography
Thomas Howard, 1st Viscount Howard of Bindon (c.1520-1581/2) was the son of Thomas Howard, 3rd Duke of Norfolk and Lady Elizabeth Stafford. He m.(1) Elizabeth Marney, daughter of unknown Marney, 2nd Baron Marney and Christian Newburgh, between 1526 and 1542 (2) Gertrude Lyte, daughter of William Lyte, aft 1565 (3) Mabel Burton, daughter of Nicholas Burton, on 7 June 1576 and (4) Margaret Manning, daughter of Henry Manning.
He was invested as a Knight in 1547.1 In 1553 he was restored in blood after his father's attainder. He was created 1st Viscount Howard of Bindon, co. Dorset [England] on 13 January 1558/59. He died on 28 January 1581/82.
He died between 24 May 1581, when he signed his will, and 14 Feb 1582, when it was proved.
