Samuel Howe was the father of Sarah Howe that married Johnathan Furman. Samuel was born in 1755 and died in 1804. He was a private in the Northumberland County Militia (page 367, Vol.4, PA Archives - Fifth Series). He married Betsy Deamer in 1774.
Betsy Deamer, mother of Sarah Howe, was born in 1758 and died in 1820, the daughter of the rector of the Church of England who had the oversight of a Philadelphia church before the Revolution.
Samuel and Betsy had seven children: Simeon, Nathan, John, Hannah, Jane, Sarah, and Rachel.
