Biography

Nehemiah married Sarah Campbell about 1780. They settled in the north part of Henniker, N. H., where they lived several yeays, then moved to Lyme, N. H., but later they moved to Thetford, Vt., where some of their children had settled

He was a Revolutionary war Soldier, a private in Capt Jonathan Holman's Co Col Doolitte's Regt. He signed up 03 May 1775. From my notes he had children:

  • Moses born 20 May 1781
  • Ruth born 6 Sept 1782 who married Asa Lord.
  • David born 1784
  • Abigail born 13 Sep 1786, died 11 June 1835. She married Jacob Powers on 5 Dec 1803.
  • Ezra born 21 April 1789
  • Hugh Pike born 13 July 1791
  • Reed Page born 19 august 1793
  • Sally born 6 dec 1795.

Nehemiah Howe was on the census in 1820, Thetford, VT. Only his wife appears on the census in 1830. Presume he died before 1830 and after 1820

Burial

Nehemiah Howe is buried in North Thetford, VT. His grave was located in 1916 by the DAR, Richard Wallace chapter. There is only one cemetery in North Thetford. Likely Pleasant Ridge Cemetery. http://genealogytrails.com/main/military/revwarburialplaces.html

Nehemiah married Sarah Campbell about 1780. What information do we have to support this? I believe they were married in Henniker, NH but I havent seen anything with a date.
