Born in Dedham, Norfolk, Massachusetts 15 March 1799. . He was a student at Harvard College 1820-1822. He married 5 June 1822 Polly Richards.[1] They had one child, Calvin Newton Howe, born 13 March 1825 and died 12 November 1825. He was a preceptor at Miton Academy 1827-1828. He died 25 June 1829 at Dedham.[2]
The Dedham original handwritten vital records (cited) list a marriage date in Dedham of 5 June 1822, marriage performed by the Rev. Alvan Lamson.. The Watertown original handwritten vital records, where Calvin was living at the time, list a marriage date of 10 May 1822. Although not identified as such, this is probably the date of intentions. The Howe Genealogies, researched by Calvin's grand nephew Oliver Howe, support the 5 June date. (Posted by third grand nephew, Howe-3137 14:44, 4 January 2018 (EST))
