Note N100he early went to Nebraska. For many years he was a prominent attorney in Omaha and St. Paul, and for several years was general solicitor for the Chicago, St. Paul, Minneapolis & Omaha Railway. He also served in the sessions of 1881 and 1882 in the Nebraska State Senate. He withdrew from active practice of his profession some years before his death and spent much of his time in Washington. D. C., Florida and Atlantic City, N. J. He d. in Hartford, Conn., 4 Jan. rg26, and was buried in Winsted, Conn. (from Howe Genealogies, vol. 1, p 178)
