Biography

Born 3 Nov 1819 in Halifax, Nova Scotia and was named after his brother who died on 23 Nov 1819. He married Eleanor Heath, daughter of Lt. Col Heath. They lived in England She died in Liverpool, England 28 July 1856. They had no children[1] He married second the widow Elizabeth (Heath) Cantor in 1861, probably the sister of his first wife. He died 30 Nov 1870 whle on a voyage from Calcutta.[2]

Research Notes

The rationale for attributing the two wives as sisters is that Eleanor's father was a Lt. Col. Heath, according to the Howe Genealogies and Elizabeth Heath's father Francis Heath was listed as an army officer in the marriage record.
