The Howe Genealogies state the following:[1]
born (probably) in Dorchester, Mass., about 1747 ; mamed in Boston, Mass., 3 April 1785, MARY EDWARDS, and afterwards lived in Dorchester, Mass. There was a Mary Edwards, daughter of John and Abigail Edwards, who was born in Boston, 15 April 1755, and according to the inscriptions on the stones in the cemetery at Uphams Corner, in Boston, the above Moses died 22 Sept. 1823, aged 76 years, and Mary his widow, died 19 Dec, 1838, aged 83 or 85 years; from the ages as given above, we are of the opinion that he was the son of Moses Howe who was born in Dorchester, Mass., 30 Nov. 1721, and wife Mary -----, but we have no absolute proof.
A US Revolutionary War Pension Application for Moses Howe list his wife Mary Edwards, married 3 April 1785 by the Reverend Samuel Stillman, and details his service in the Revolution. The original application by Moses was dated 1818, and follow-on papers by Moses and his widow Mary go up to October 1838. It includes a statement by Hannah Oliver, who declares herself as Moses' and Mary's daughter.[2]
