Chauncey Howe was born in Wells, .Vermont about 1799, the son of Samuel Howe and Avis Newton and twin brother of Charles Howe. He married Achsah Stevens, daughter of samuel Stevens, born about 1807. They lived in Wells, vermont for several years, then move to NY State and settled in Luzerne, Warren, New York, where he was a farmer.[1]
