Hannah Roberts, widow, married Thomas Carleton of the township of Kennett, yeoman, on the 20th day of the 3rd month 1730 in a public meeting at Kennett.^[1]

She passed away about 1758.^[2]

"According to the History of Chester Co., PA, Hannah died 5-6-1758, but the date furnished by George Passmore Harlan in 5-6-1769, thus leaving us in doubt as to which is the correct date of her death."

Her epitaph was written for the Kennett MM: "Hannah Carlton, the wife of Thomas Carleton of Kennetts, in Chester County Pennsylvania, (formerly the widow of Robert Roberts of said place) was the daughter of William Howell of Haverfords, in the county aforesaid, where she was born about the 5th month [JULY], 1689. . . . " [Information is contrary to all birth date sources found so far.] ^[5]
