In the censuses she is variously recorded as born in Bedwellty(sometimes misspelled Bedwilly - 1901 Census) or Tredgar (1891 Census). Tredgar is actually an area within Bedwellty.

In 1881 she was a nurse (servant for Dyer family) and was living at 8 Pembroke Terrace, Cardiff St John, Glamorgan, Wales

She is recorded as living in Roath, Glamorganshire, Wales at the time of the 1901 Census

Richard Brooks, John Cooper, Elizabeth Evangeline Hamilton were present at her marriage in 1883. Richard and Elizabeth were possibly best man and maid of honor.

She had five children. Her first child Christmas Cooper was born in 1887 and the last, Doris Cooper in 1898
