"Mrs. Celia Mitchell, 73, died unexpectedly Thursday afternoon at her home in Greenfield.
The daughter of Thomas and Mary Eveline Leeth Howland, she was born March 11, 1892, in Pike County.
Her husband, Arthur Mitchell, died December 13, 1939.
Surviving are six daughters, Mrs. Stella Potts of Bainbridge, Mrs. Ella Puckett, Mrs. Alma Grubb and Mrs. Opal Vince of Greenfield, Mrs. Mabel Walters of Milford and Mrs. Eva Silvano of Wayne, New Jersey; three sons, Thomas of Xenia, Porter of Bainbridge and Earl of Clarksville; 30 grandchildren; 39 great-grandchildren; a sister, Mrs. Chloie Kirsch of Greenfield; and a brother, Case Howland of Bainbridge.
Services were held at 2 P.M. Sunday in the Bainbridge Church of Christ in Christian Union with Rev. Lloyd Miller and Rev. Glenn Mills officiating. Burial was in Gardner Cemetery under direction of Smith Funeral Home."[1]
