Birth

When Frederick Charles Howland was born on September 23, 1870, in Woonsocket, Rhode Island, his father, Angelo Howland, was 41 and his mother, Harriet Backus (Goodell) Howland, was 41.[1]

Marriage

Frederick Charles Howland married first, Helen Trenholm Grimball on 28 December 1900 in Spartanburg, South Carolina. It seems they were separated sometime before 1910 and finally were divorced sometime after 1910 because the 1900 census confirmed that they did not live in same house together.

Frederick Charles Howland married second, Elizabeth Caroline Bayne (1884–1971) on June 30, 1913, in Elkton, Maryland, when he was 42 years old.

  1. William Olney Howland was born on 15 September 1914, in Chester, Pennsylvania. He had two sons and three daughters with Catharine Smith between 1938 and 1955. He died on January 25, 1999, in Salisbury, Maryland, at the age of 84.

Death

Frederick Charles Howland died on April 20, 1950, in Chester, Pennsylvania, at the age of 79.
