Sarah Howland was born to Thomas Howland and Mary Kimball about 1770 in Glocester, Providence County, Province of Rhode Island and Providence Plantations.[1] Her birth date of 1770 was based on her age of 85 years at death in 1855.
Also, the death record confirmed that she was born in Burrillville, Providence County, Rhode Island. However, Burrillville was set off from Glocester and incorporated into a separate and distinct township in 1806, so she was actually born in the northern part in the former township boundary of Glocester, and that northern part would become a new township boundary of Burrillville in 1806.
