Job Howland was born in Barnstable, Massachusetts Bay on 18 June 1726.[1] He was the son of John Howland who was born on 31 December 1674 in Barnstable, Barnstable County, Massachusetts Bay, and Mary Crocker who was born on 29 Jun 1681 in Barnstable, Barnstable County, Massachusetts Bay.[2][3][4]
Marriage
He married Hannah Jenkins on 6 December 1753 in Barnstable, Barnstable County, Massachusetts Bay.[3][5]

Their marriage delivered 11 children, all born in Barnstable, Barnstable County, Massachusetts Bay as follow:[3][6]
The couple raised their large family in Barnstable, Massachusetts. Most of the sons and grandsons of the daughters of Job Howland settled on Cape Cod, and many of them became master-mariners.[3] None of the sons mentioned herein, though born on the Cape, remained there.[8]
Death
Job Howland passed away on 1 May 1794 at the house of her daughter, Joanna Chapman in Barnstable, Massachusetts.[8]
Burial
Job Howland was buried at West Barnstable Cemetery in West Barnstable, Barnstable County, Massachusetts.[9]
