Daughter of Abraham Howland, Jr. (1710-?) and Sarah Simmons (1711-1738). Anna married Gideon Rose, Jr. (1734-1778) of Scituate, MA on 12 July 1756 in Pembroke, MA. The couple subsequently moved from the Pembroke/Hanover, MA area to Sandwich, MA on Cape Cod where their daughter, Christiana Rose was born on 1 Dec 1774. Anna's husband, Gideon Rose, Jr., was a Continental soldier in the Revolutionary War serving a 3 year term. Sandwich Historical records indicate that returning soldiers from the War to Sandwich reported his death as of 21 March 1778, wherebouts not mentioned. Anna and some of her children, including Christiana, moved to Salem, Essex, MA where Anna died.
