Biography
This profile is part of the Howland Name Study.
Sedate was born in 1807. Sedate Howland .A marriage announcement in the March 15, 1837 Columbian Reporter [1] shows him married to Rachel Macomber. According to the 1850 census [2], he lived in Taunton in October 1850 with Alvin, Rachel (age 33), Benjamin, Levi, Job, Mary and Susan Howland, as well as Maria Staples and her two toddlers Charles and Ann. He married Mary Maria Westgate in 1856, according to the Massachusetts Marriage record [3]. This record gives his age as 44 and his occupation as cooper. He passed away in 1872. [4]
