Biography

James Howton was born about 1819 in Kentucky. He was the son of Abraham Howton and Assella Darcas (Castleberry) Howton.

In the 1850 U.S. Census, James Howton, age 31, born about 1819 in Kentucky, was enumerated in Fayette County, Alabama with wife Martha and children.[1]
