Biography
Joab A. Howton was born about 1857 in Alabama.[1][2] He was the son of Lewis Howton and Harriet (Whiteside) Howton.[1][2]
In the 1860 U.S. Census, Joab, age 3 (born about 1857 in AL) lived in Freelands, Jefferson, Alabama with parents and siblings. [1] In the 1870 U.S. Census, Joab, age 12 (born about 1858 in AL) lived in Jefferson County (P.O. Waldrop Mill) with parents and siblings: Baines, Jas, Joab, J B and Joseph. [2]
He was married 13 November 1877 in Jefferson County, Alabama to C.E. Patton. [3]
