Lewis J. Howton, son of Lewis Howton and Sarah Martha (Ridge) Howton, was born 10 March 1828 in Hopkins County, Kentucky. Birth date inscribed on tombstone. [1][2][3]

On 16 November 1849, he married Mary Smith. Marriage date inscribed on tombstone. [3]

In 1850, "Lewis Howton" (age 23, born about 1827 in Kentucky) was enumerated with wife Mary Howton (age 16, born in KY). [1]

He died 14 March 1906 in Hopkins County, Kentucky and was buried at Old Beulah Cemetery, Beulah, Hopkins County, Kentucky. [3]
