Biography

Leo was born in 1904. He was the son of Thomas Huber and Susan Dohm. He passed away in 1977.

BITTEN BY DOG

Leo, Son of Thos. Huber Taken to Chicago Tuesday

Leo, the youngest son of Mr. and Mrs. Thos Huber, of northeast of town, was bitten by Frank Huber's dog

Tuesday.

The little fellow went to the house of his brother, Frank's and had just entered the gate when the dog bounced upon him, severely biting his right wrist. The dog's viciousness the past few days caused alarm and the victim was taken to Chicago Pasteur Institute where it will be determined whether the dog had hydrophobia or not. According to physicians here it is their opinion that the dog was not mad, but became grouchy from the hot weather and his age.

Up to press time no word had been received here from Chicago.

Mr. Huber's action in taking the boy to Chicago immediately is very laudable, thereby giving the victim's chance for recovery in case the dog was bitten by a rabid dog. A case near Willow Hill where death resulted from slowness in action is a sad example.

Mr. Frank Huber's daughter was bitten several weeks ago by the same dog.

The canine was killed immediately after biting Master Leo.

The Village of Ste. Marie, through its president, is taking proper steps in compelling all owners of dogs to confine or securely muzzle them for a period of 30 days. Any dog running at large without muzzle will be killed.

A little child of David Ferguson's living near Willow Hill was bitten by what was thought to be a rabid dog Wednesday morning.
