Biography

Born of a farm in East Lancaster (Cemetery Rd.) Louis followed in his father's footsteps and became a proficient farmer. He opened a grocery store at 152 Central Ave. in the front part of the house in 1892. (according to Erie Co. records the house was built in 1890). He was known among his neighbors and townsmen as a man of truth, integrity and business ability. He was confirmation sponsor for Michael Guber on 1 Oct. 1879 (looked like Lewis Buber); for Peter Armbrust on 30 June 1901 Bishop Quigley (confirmation name: Louis)

St. Mary's baptismal record had a note from Lt. Charles Kozwiczka, 639 Terrace Blvd. Depew NY asking for his baptismal record. He said he was baptized on 1 Aug. 1895 (born in 1895) and that the sponsors were Louis Huber and Mrs. Schrankel.

According to a newspaper add in a Lancaster newpaper ad Jan 1896 he had a grocery store at 119 Central Ave. The add stated:

The practical way of doing business is to buy for cash and sell for cash. I therefore wish to announce to my customers and the public in general that with the beginning of the new year I will sell Groceries at the very lowest cash prices. The following are a few of the many bargains:
