Biography

The Ann Huckaby that married William Gower was the daughter of Thomas Huckaby and Mary Simmons. William Gower and Ann Huckaby Gower's first child, William Gower Jr., was born 30 April 1725, Bristol Parish Records of Henrico, Prince Charles, and Dinwiddie Counties, Virginia. Therefore, if Ann were twenty years old in 1725 when William was born, she would have been born about 1705. However, I think Ann was more between sixteen and eighteen years old when married, and therefore I am going to estimate Ann Huckaby was born about 1703.

Thomas Huckaby's Will names his daughter Ann Gower and his son Richard Huckaby as heirs of his estate. On 5 October 1725, the Prince George County, Virginia, Order Book 1714 - 1720 states the release of the dower of Anne Gower, which I considered a misprint as Thomas Huckaby in his will stated her name as Ann.

William Gower married Ann Huckaby about 1724 since their first child William Gower Jr. was born 30 April 1725, and their second child Elizabeth Gower was born 18 March 1726. Their births are recorded in " Bristol Parish Records of Henrico, Prince Charles, and Dinwiddie County, Virginia. Since William Gower Jr. is not listed in Thomas Huckaby's will, I will say that William Gower Jr. died before 19 June 1735 when the will was written.
