Biography

Experience Huckins, the daughter of John Huckins and Hope Chipman, was born June 4, 1675 at Barnstable, Plymouth Colony, Massachusetts. [1]

She married 28 Sep 1698 to Thomas Lewis, son of Edward.[2] He seems to be brother of her sister Elizabeth's husband John Lewis.

She died at Barnstable July 22, 1766. [3]

Note on name spelling - both names Huckins and Lewis use these spellings, not the alternate Huckens and Lewes (See source by Elizabeth Pearson White, where both spellings are given with the preferred one first.) Members of this family apparently changed the spelling of the family name to Huckens when they moved to Canada.

Huckins-370 and Huckins-10 appear to represent the same person because: Obvious duplicate. Please merge

Huckins-10 and Huckens-1 appear to represent the same person because: Susan Roser is a known Canadian Mayflower Genealogist so I think we should take her spelling of the last name. Otherwise the two match.

Roser (Early Descendants of Henry Cobb) p147 spells the last name of daughter and father as Huckens. I am fine with using Huckins if we mention Huckens as an alternate last name. Morag
