Funeral services were conducted Monday at Buffalo Valley for John B. Huddleston, 78, lifelong resident of the community, who died at his home Saturday after a long illness.

The Rev. E. D. Bennett, Sparta was in Cookeville Cemetery, conducted the services and burial.

Mr. Huddleston was born and reared in the 9th District. He was married to Miss Mary Maxwell in 1894. She is a survivor.

Mr. Huddleston was a member of the Methodist Church.

Other survivors include three daughers, Mrs. Lee Alcron, Mrs. James Youngblood, Silver Point, and Mrs. Nora Cowan, Carthage; six sons, Willie Huddleston, of Sparta, Walter Huddleston, Star City, IN, Buck Huddleston, of Baxter, Oscar Huddleston, Detroit, MI, John Huddleston, of Litchfield, KY, and Jess Huddleston, Silver Point.
