Abraham Huddleston was a Virginia colonist.

Abraham was b in 1744 in Bucks Co, Pa., the son of Henry Huddleston, Jr. & Mary Wilkinson.

He married Mary Patterson about 1767 prob in Bucks Co, PA.

He migrated to Bedford County, Virginia about 1770 with his brothers Daniel and William. (After he died about 1787 Daniel and William moved on to Kanawha Valley in what is now West Virginia.) Abraham's descendants are numerous in Bedford County to this day.

Abraham Huddleston is on a list of Tory prisoners committed to the keeper of the Bedford County jail during the summer of 1780 and kept for 18 days on the suspicion of treasonable practice against the state.
The Huddleston family had come to Bedford around 1761 [sic: 1770] and were reported to be Quakers so it may be surprising that Abraham swore allegiance to either side since Quakers usually remained neutral. However, there is only one Abraham Huddleston of age in Bedford in 1780 and the family had migrated from Pennsylvania only a few years earlier.[1]

Abraham died in 1787 according to the Huddleston Family Tables. Other records show his death in 1785 before the birth of his youngest son, Abraham Jr. (possibly born after his death).
Many years after his death Mary married Abraham Slack Jr. in 1798.

Abraham's will was recorded on November 28, 1785 in Bedford County, Virginia. In it he mentions his wife Mary and four sons, but only Joseph was named. His wife Mary and son, Joseph acted at executors and the will was witnessed by Joe Patterson, John Ray and Christopher Buley. An inventory of his estate was taken by Charles Tate, William Thornhill and James Steptoe. The inventory was recorded on January 23rd, 1786.[2]

DNA Connections
It may be possible to confirm family relationships with Abraham by comparing test results with other carriers of his Y-chromosome or his mother's mitochondrial DNA. However, there are no known yDNA or mtDNA test-takers in his direct paternal or maternal line. It is likely that these autosomal DNA test-takers will share some percentage of DNA with Abraham:

Abraham and Mary (Patterson) Huddleston had only ONE son named Henry: Huddleston-1472. Huddleston #3033 shown as a second child named Henry is clearly a duplicate, same parents and same spouse. Need to be merged.
