John C. Huddleston was born in Rutherford County, North Carolina around 1796 to John L Huddleston and Sarah (Cleghorn) Huddleston.

John and his two brothers, David and Charles left Rutherford, North Carolina around 1811and settled in Putnam County, Tennessee. [1]
