Biography

Per tax lists[1]: image 256 Date: May 16 1806 description Pulaski County area: Fishing Creek (A known family ground) taxpayer: John Hutson (known spelling variant) 3 lines totaling 430 acres classified grade 2... is the first time I see the revenuers caught up. The title lines are smudged; but, is line 3 an attempt to spell Agnes? Agnes (Burton) Hudson the mother of John and James? Line 1 and 2 could be John and James?

On June 7, 1807 per https://www.familysearch.org/ark:/61903/3:1:3Q9M-CS3J-C3Z6-T?i=306&cat=157327 image we find a John Hutson paying taxes on 3 lines again at same location. This is classified as grade 3 acreage and sums to 432 acres. The name of the 1st line is smudged though the surname is evident, line 1 appears as Egnefs and 2nd as John Hutson, 3rd as Egnefs (is this again the mother Agnes?).

On July 2nd 1808 on the above link image 352, we see this John Hutson again paying taxes on these 3 lines of property summing 442 acres. The 1st 2 lines are noted with title owner Agnifs Hutson and line 3 as John Hutson.

Image 425, Aug. 1809, John pays again for 440 grade 3 acreage with lines 1 & 2 apparently titled to Egnefs (276 acres) and line 3 John titled on 164.

Image 460, June 1810, John is shown paying for 3 parcels. This year they appear to be spelling the surname as Hudson and line 1 (200 acres) listed as titled to Agnefs Hudson and Lines 2 and 3 (76 & 156 acres) titled as John Hudson.

Image 512, 1811, parcel lines 1 & 3 appear to have the Agnefs as title owner (200 & 76 acres) and line 2 appears possibly "Left to a son Hudson" 156 acres) as owner? All 3 list John as payer.

Image 570, June 1812, John Hudson pays for 4 parcel lines at Fishing Creek, Pulaski County. Line 1 (150 acres) list him as owner. Lines 2 & 3 (200 & 76 acres) list Agnefs as owner. Line 4 is 157 1/2 acres owner Grimes/Trautman.

A Henry, Robert, and Daniel are noted in Pulaski County in 1812 paying taxes. Henry's property is at Fishing Creek though owned by illegible. Robert and Daniel's properties are in the Cumberland vicinity.

Image 623, 1813. Again John pays for 4 parcels. The only one he owns title to is 154? acres. A. Hudson is shown titled to 2 parcels ( 200 & 76 acres) and Grimes is noted owner of 157 acres. The name Dan? Hudson is shown on the following line though there is no list of property.

A Henry Hudson is shown paying taxes on 2 parcels at White Oak, Pulaski; though, he owns neither.

Image 685, 1814, reiterates the same as in 1813. On the image 686, there is a Dave? Hudson paying taxes for 131 acres at Fishing Creek with owner listed as J. Hudson.

Image 747, 1815 is reiteration of previous year. The name is spelled out yet hard to be certain if it is David or Daniel in the script.

Another John Hudson is noted paying for 31 acres at Cumberland River with owner listed as Forbush.

Image 868 1917 appears the same with John paying the 4 parcels.

In image 930 1818 we note the four parcels are paid for by the spouse Patsey.

Note in son David's will his mother is mentioned as Patsey, can we assume she used the nickname legally and her parents have yet to be identified.
