Eliza Jane Hudson, daughter of Wilford Heath Hudson and Juliana Graybill,^[2][3] was born on 9 Jan. 1844 at Nauvoo, Hancock County, Illinois, USA.^[4][5][6][7]

Eliza travelled at age 5 with the Samuel Gully/Orson Spencer Company wagon train, departing 28 May 1849, and arriving 25 Sep 1849 in Deseret.^[8]

She married Joseph Freeman Phippen, as his second wife, on 2 April 1866 in Salt Lake City, Utah.^[7]
