Elizabeth Hudson was born in about 1875/1876 in Newfoundland, then a British dominion (it joined Canada in 1949). Her parents are said to have been William Hudson and wife, Jane (Snow) Hudson, both also from Newfoundland (Canada). Elizabeth "Lizzie" Hudson is said to have emigrated to the USA in 1887. [1]
On January 1, 1896, Elizabeth Hudson married Asahel Foster Nott III, b: 1868 in Scituate, Plymouth Co., Massachusetts. They married in Boston, Suffolk Co., Massachusetts, USA and set up house in Cohasset, Norfolk Co., Massachusetts, USA.[2]
On May 6, 1905, in Cohasset, Norfolk County, Massachusetts, Elizabeth (Hudson) Nott had a premature baby girl who died the same day at birth. Her name is not known. Elizabeth had no children after this stillborn or premature birth tragedy.[3]
In the 1920s, Asahel & Elizabeth (Hudson) Nott, adopted (formally or informally) a young girl named Constance McMillan. According to the 1930s Census, she was born in 1923 Connecticut and her parents were both from Halifax, Nova Scotia, Canada. In the 1940 Census Constance was still living with the Notts. She lived with them from age 7 to 17 (1940).[4]
Elizabeth (Hudson) Nott and her husband both died in 1944, in Massachusetts, USA. They are interred next to each other in the Groveland Cemetery, Scituate, Plymouth County, Massachusetts, USA. [5][6][7]
