Eli was a Revolutionary Solder. He enlisted in 1775 and served 8 months under Capt. James Allen in Col. "Baylies" (Bailiey's) Massachusetts Regiment: he served about 3 months in the year of 1778, under Capt. "John Ames", attached to Col. Sullivan's Regiment and 3 months in the year of 1780 with a detachment under General La Fayette. During his service he was stationed at Rosbury, Massachusetts and Providence, Rhode Island. Pension was allowed for service of 8 months as Corporal and six months seven days as Sargent. Certificate No. 3192 was issued Jan 24, 1840 to Sarah (Perkins) Hudson, widow of Eli Hudson, rate $60.48 per annum, act of July 4, 1836, Massachusetts Agency.[3])
