To import data into WikiTree, create a GEDCOM and then import it. After importing, it is important to go through all the new profiles and edit out the 'chaff' - the computer generated time stamp, etc.
To start, do a GEDMATCH, which does not import date to WikiTree, but compares the data on your computer tree to WikiTree profiles, and identifies duplicates.
Many members just type their data in, one profile at a time. With a large database, GEDCOMs are faster.
We are building one Collaborative Tree which means one profile per person. It is important to check for duplicates as you add any Profiles to WikiTree.
