Note: There seem to be some discrepancies in this profile record. The county of birth stated, Halifax County, was established in 1752 from Lunenburg County. So, a person could not have been born in Halifax County in 1724, the year stated (as of May 2020) in the vital stats section of this profile.

The reference to Roanoke as a more specific location in the alleged Halifax County as place of birth, makes for even more confusion. It can't refer to the city of Roanoke, which isn't in Halifax County, and Roanoke didn't exist until about the 1880s. Prior to that time, it was called Big Lick. Perhaps the Roanoke mentioned in the vital stats area of the profile was a reference to the Roanoke River?
